Our Facility
The Holy Angels Dance Team is required to take variety of dance classes as a team throughout the week. These classes include: Ballet, Hip Hop, Turns and Leaps, and Contemporary. We also attend the following dance conventions: NYCDA, Monsters of HH, NUVO, and Jump.
Dance Residency with Tracie Stanfield and Synthesis Dance Project
As one of the top teachers in New York City, Tracie Stanfield brings energy, style and passion to her students across the world. Known for inspiring and challenging classes, her work focuses on moving beyond the steps to allow each dancer to find his or her connection with breath, emotion and movement. Building on the technique of ballet, the bold rebellion of modern contemporary and the pulse of jazz dance, Tracie’s classes are explorations in PURE DANCE. In addition to choreographing and directing Synthesis Dance Project, Tracie has been commissioned by Tapestry Dance Company, Verismo Opera Company, K-Broadway in Tokyo, TRIP Dance Company, Mesa State College and Dancers Inc. Tracie Stanfield recently choreographed the independent film, “The Fairy Queen” for Director Erin Levendorf and created an online video campaign for EOS/Caseology. Tracie’s work as a commissioned guest artist, teacher, collaborator and consultant insures her position as an authority on the cutting edge of dance and education. Tracie continues to teach master classes, workshops and residencies for organizations such as The Rock School, K- Broadway/ Tokyo, Joffrey Ballet Center, The University of South Carolina, Mesa State College, Sureste Dance Festival (Mexico), The International Dance Festival’s Summer Intensive(Artistic Director), SouthEast Regional Ballet Festival, Marymount Manhattan College, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, The Grier School, The Pulse on Tour, Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, Motion Dance Convention, The Gold School, TRIP Dance Company, Pebblebrook High School (Performing Arts), St. Stephens School and more.
Dance Residency with Ballet Hispanico of NYC
Hillary Ramos trained at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts. She has attended programs at Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Nederlands Dans Theater, among others. In 2008, Hillary was a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) youngARTS Finalist and a New York Regional Winner. She was a NFAA Presidential Scholar in the Arts Dance nominee and semifinalist. She attended New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Hillary has also danced with Ballet Hispanico’s second company, BHdos and has shared the stage with Ballet Hispanico’s first company.
Master Teachers
The Holy Angels Dance Team believes in bringing multiple master teachers to our school for technique classes. These teachers are leading professionals in the dance industry and provide personalized instruction for our team.
DIRECTOR- Jenny Sweet
Jenny Sweet, winner of the Universal Dance Association's Coach's Award, began her training at the prestigious Seiskaya Ballet Academy in NY. She has her Dance degree from New York University and is a full-time dance faculty member at the Cicely Tyson Performing Arts School, a state-recognized performing arts high school in NJ. Jenny choreographed award winning contemporary ballet pieces for the International Ballet Competition held in Varna, Bulgaria as well as three additional successful pieces for IBC and The Youth America Grand Prix.
Jenny has been coaching the Holy Angels' dancers for 7 years where they have been awarded countless state and regional titles and a National Championship under her tutelage. She strives to provide the Holy Angels Dancers with a complete experience that not only challenges the dancers technically, but also encourages an environment of academic and philanthropic success.
JV COACH- Kristen Cebulski
Kristen Cebulski was born and raised in Dumont, New Jersey. She started dancing at the age of 2 and it is now my passion. She is a member of the Academy of the Holy Angels alumni, graduating in 2009. Kristen was captain of the dance team. As a junior, she danced on the 2008 Hip-Hop National Championship Team. Kristen went on to attend Ramapo College of New Jersey and received her bachelor's degree in Mathematics this past May. She was also a member of the Ramapo College Dance Team and won two National titles. It has always been her dream to come back and coach the AHA dance team and her dreams have come true. Kristen loves dance team and she is so excited to be able to start her coaching career with such a great and hardworking group of dancers.
Christine O'Donnell, owner of Sukha Arts Center in Harrington Park, NJ, specializes in teaching jazz technique (turns & jumps) to young dancers. She dances professionally for a non-profit contemporary dance company, MarDelDance, and performs throughout the tri-state area and beyond. She is also a 500-RYT, and yoga therapy certified. Christine was also recently honored by Jade Yoga Mats as a Jade Yoga Mat Ambassador.
Morgan Claire McEwen began her professional ballet career at age 17 with the Richmond Ballet. The following year, Ms McEwen joined BalletMet where she danced many soloist roles and was co-recipient of the Violetta Boft award. In 2009, Morgan moved back to New York to dance with the Metropolitan Opera. Here, she has performed in several Metropolitan Opera premiers including Rossini’s Armida, Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann, and the world premiere of Enchanted Island. Ms. McEwen is also the Director and Choreographer of MorDance--a dance company inspired by the root and beauty of ballet with inspiration derived from contemporary movement and music.
Joanna has had the privilege of working with such artists as Beyonce, Kanye West, Rihanna, Fergie, Busta Rhymes, P.Diddy, Nelly, Pharrel, Black Eyed Peas, Dirty Money and Cassie. Her film credits include the feature films STEP UP 3D, I AM LEGEND, FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS (to be released in 2011) and THE SMURFS MOVIE (to be released in summer 2011). Some other credits are "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show," "Fashion Rocks," "MTV VMA's," "SNL," "Law & Order," Dr.Scholls national commercial, and industrials for L'Oreal, Nexxus, Nike, Adidas, Sobe Lifewater, and Equinox.
Keri Olsen from Long Island, New York is a recent graduate of the Back to Back National Champion, Hofstra University Dance Team. She was the team captain in her junior and senior year. Keri is also a 5 year instructor for Universal Dance Association, most recently being placed on College Staff. Keri has an extensive dance training in all styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Pom and Kick. She choreographs for many dance teams at the Regional and National level. Keri is very excited to be working with The Academy of The Holy Angels!
